Steve played in 46 games with 27 starts for the Trojans. He finished career with 190 receptions for 3,019 yards (15.9-yard avg.) and 22 touchdowns, with a long catch of 73 yards. He averaged 4.13 receptions and 65.6 yards a game. During his time at USC Steve won 2 national championships and caught 3 touchdowns in the 2004 Orange Bowl which helped seal the USC's 11th national championship and their perfect 13-0 record. Smith's 190 catches placed him 5th in school history and his 3,019 yards receiving ranked 4th. In 2006 Stevewas named to the All Pac-10 team First Team and to the 2006 All Pac-10 Second Team by rivals.com. Smith was named honorable mention on the SI.com All-American team and First-team All-American by CBS Sportsline. Smith was voted team MVP in 2006 by teammates of his 4th ranked Trojans team. Smith became the 6th receiver in school history to catch at least 20 touchdown passes in a career.
